Abalone shells also called ear of the sea are mainly used in purification rituals to burn palo santo, sage, sweetgrass, incense and cones. They all come from the ocean. It has calming energy, allowing you to stay connected to the water element. Using abalone shells in your cleansing rituals allows you to connect with the four elements of the earth; water (shell), air (smoke) and earth (herbs).
